Battlestar Galactica Weekdays at 6pm "There are those who believe that life here began out there, far across the universe, with tribes of humans who may have been the forefathers of the Egyptians, or the Toltecs, or the Mayans. They may have been the architects of the great pyramids, or the lost civilizations of Lemuria or Atlantis. Some believe that there may yet be brothers of man who even now fight to survive somewhere beyond the heavens..."
In the farthest reaches of the universe lives a civilization
of humans who occupy twelve colony worlds. Sounds rather
nice, what? But with space being such an unpredictable
breeding ground for xenomorphic aggressors, its no surprise
that all the peace and harmony has been shattered by
an evil breed of war robots who were created long ago
by an extinct reptilian race – naturally. The
Cylons don’t mean to be nasty, it’s
just that they were never given the order to cease the
attack, and, being robots, that makes all the difference.
Now, Commander Adama (Lorna Greene)
must lead a fleet of fugitive ships, headed up by the
battlestar warship Galactica, as the
survivors venture off across the stars in search of
refuge on a fabled planet called Earth…
Also starring famous '80s faces Dirk Benedict
(The A-Team) and Richard Hatch (erm,
All My Children), Battlestar Galactica has proved a
massively enduring phenomena, spawning several additional
series, movies and games, and is currently enjoying
a popular re-imagining as a spanking new show. But nothing
can quite live up to the charmingly hammy original,
cardboard backdrops and all. Retrograde your sci-fi
sensibilities with this kitsch slice of space opera
matinee malarkey, now showing on Bravo!
