The Army reaches the West Ridge at last, establishing Camp Four, at 7,600 metres. The effects of the high altitude really begin to kick in and only the strongest can survive at these heights.
Now Expedition Leader Dave Bunting faces his most difficult decision; who he will choose to go to the summit? Everybody wants to go, but the plan only allows for 9 of them to do so.
